According to relevant experts, China's environmental labeling low carbon cement standard mainly proposes limit requirements for carbon dioxide emissions of cement clinker and cement products. Zhang Jianxin, deputy secretary-general of the China Cement Association, said that the cement industry is an important basic material industry for China's national economic construction and one of the major energy resource consumption and greenhouse gas (CO2) emission industries. At present, China has more than 3,800 cement enterprises. In 2011, cement production reached 2.09 billion tons, accounting for 57% of world production. According to relevant statistics, the current greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions of the cement industry account for about 20% of China's industrial sector carbon dioxide emissions, reaching several billion tons, and the cement industry is facing tremendous pressure on carbon dioxide emission reduction. Relevant person in charge said that the implementation of the "Technical Requirements for Environmental Labeling Products Cement" (HJ2519-2012) standard, the implementation of China's environmental labeling low carbon product certification in the cement industry, can effectively promote China's cement industry towards low carbon, low energy consumption, low Pollution, sustainability and development in a direction conducive to human health.
